It helps by showing the governments that their support for Ukraine has the backing of their people. I know, alien concept to Russia where it doesn't matter one lick what the people want, but this is very important in democracies.

@unvaccinatedAndPureBlood The only reports I remember were about some Russian insurgents creating what later became the excuse for the unprovoked assault. Last time I saw anything like this was when the SS pretended to be Polish and attacked a German transmitter station.

@JessicaZane4realz This isn't about virtue signaling, it's about showing that Russia stands alone. Nobody went on the streets and said that Russia is right in its assault on Ukraine, or did anyone?

@evgeniam685 The point is to show the governments that they have the backing of their population when they back Ukraine. I know, hard to explain to someone living in a dictatorship why that could be important, but believe me, in democracies, this means a lot.

Well, not doing it might change the attitude of their government, so yes, it does change something.
