Great show but I have to disagree with one of your premises; this WAS the result of a weakness in the system, but that system was the public health system, which reminds me of nothing so much as a 19th century building fire in a large city like NYC, where privately owned fire companies would race to the fire and then argue and compete with each other about who was actually going to put out the fire... and all the while the building continues to burn to the ground... mix that with some Mack Sennett Keystone frolics... minus any comedy whatsoever... and you have our current reality... or what passes for one.
