"Ukraine is the West's fault..." if you believe Russia should control the destiny and be the defacto ruler of its neighbors... if you believe that, you probably also believe that Hitler was right to invade the Sudetenland, because after all, didn't a lot of them speak German? So Hitler had a "natural right" to invade a sovereign nation, which in general is a lot of old thinking about spheres of influence, and before that, protectorates and colonies, which thinking brought us both WWl and WWll, and is one more reason why that mode of thought is moldy and doesn't pass the smell test. To bring Mearsheimer up to date: modern sovereign states are free to go their own way, free to vote for the destiny of their choice. Putin is now the president of Crimea which is an area he stole from another nation. That's simply wrong and evidence that what's currently happening in Ukraine is Russia and Putin's fault; don't forget, Russia is a signatory to a document (when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons) that pledged to respect and protect Ukraine's territorial integrity. Which agreement, of course, it broke the moment it was convenient for them to do so, with their "little green men". Russia is ethically bankrupt; a kleptocratic fraud that can't be trusted to honor its own promises. Of COURSE Russia is at fault here, whatever theories and moldy ideas that Putin's apologists and intellectual lickspittles like Mearsheimer try to sell you.
