  2.  @sjay67  - Leader McConnell in the Senate, political animal, his nose in the wind, previously Ukraine's strongest backer in the Senate & who has visited Ukraine (& hosted Zelenskyy in Washington) is also backing down, saying the American border concerns are more important than the issue of Ukraine.

  3.  @sjay67  - You're right; you need both houses to agree for a bill to pass Congress. McConnell here functions more as a "tell" for the further weakening of the traditional FDR, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reaganite Bush strong international military posture that was in the ascendancy since Dec. 7, 1941 and the further return (if one were needed) of the traditional isolationist strain in America First nativist thinking that stretches as far back as the founding of the country.

  5. Changing politics in Slovakia, Hungary... even Germany... maybe even the USA, France, are very worrisome. Maybe putin isn't wrong to wait out the emotionally labile West, sadly.

  7. The Russian army has a history of losing to smaller countries... Germany, France Japan, Sweden, Finland, Prussia; they talk a good game, full of bluster and threats and rattle their swords with the best of them... but in the end they're corrupt on a grand scale and treat their soldiers like the cannon fodder they inevitably end up being...
