Name one contempary (relevant) politician that is defending their actions with Hobbes. You guys are creating a strawman.

@trhll5635 the point of his joke is that 'the statists' all say we should 'respect Hobbes' .

@hive_indicator318 Not really an answer. He says at 15:25 : "Using force to pull a child out of incoming traffic does not create a hierarchy." This is simply not true. The person pulling the child out has to determine if the traffic is really dangerous for example. Or if the child didn't notice the car themselves and will walk back to the pavement eventually. The child has no say in this, it is being pulled. So it is by definition a hierarchy. This guy, like many anarchists, will say of every example when someone in a hierarchical position does something wrong: "Look that's hierarchy!" And when someone in a hierarchical position does something positive: "Ah, that's not hierarchy, that's anarchism/voluntary/left-libertarianism/"free"/"liberation"/etc or another word that is in fashion.

@00PlPu00 How do you know I would? People have different opinions about the definition what 'abuse' is. How are you going to organize that we help that child?

@00PlPu00 It's not about a "single issue". My point is: You will always have rules in a society and people enforcing those rules. Who will benefit those rules and who will enforce them is what politics is all about. Anarchists like silly semantic games where a state is suddenly called different ("governance", "community" or whatever) and then it's OK all of the sudden. They also act "statists" are all dumb state worshippers: as if liberals and socialists don't have have similar values and concerns as most anarchists. Again: pulling a child out of traffic is a form of hierarchy. It's an example where hierarchy most of the time works. (As long as the parent is not an anxious helicopter parent)

@trhll5635 you have a point here, but you claim I am an 'authoritarian', so you build strawmen as well.

If a child is being abused in an anarchist society, who will step in?

@00PlPu00 this discussion is useless if we don't have a big list of definitions where we are on the same page.
