  3.  @DurzoBlunts  its because of no fault divorces that heavily favor the woman in the relationship. That and women initiate 3/4 divorces so therefore men are hesitant. Thats the reason, you can see it in the data if you were so inclined. The law changed in the 70s, California was the first state in 1969 and the other states followed in their own ways. Movies were made about getting divorced like Kramer V Kramer, which won an oscar. Suddenly divorce skyrocketed. Lawyer were able to specialize in divorces where before it was a fraction.
