I love how we never know what kind of video Rick is going to make other than it being related to making music. Love the channel and always look forward to Rick's uploads.

Thats probably true for most art.

It costs a lot more for a label to maintain a band. It costs more to record them properly and the more people involved means more potential problems.

Thats not possible but I guess I understand what he's trying to say.

@MurkyDregs I never mentioned the word perfect. EVERYONE has preconceived biases, period.

@MurkyDregs "And that's a description of an absolute condition much like perfection." In fact the idea that a person can achieve a state of being truly unbiased is more like perfection than anything I mentioned. We all have unique and pervasive biases that most of us will never understand. "Go ahead and describe a possible set of biases across Rick's productions?" Well his instinctual willingness to go against the grain is one just off the top of my head. I think you're missing the point. We all have our own biases and thats not necessarily a bad thing. In fact Id venture to say its what makes him so good at what he does.

I love these deep in the weeds music theory breakdowns. I would love to see him do this with a heavy metal song.

Getting paid for my art... I dont even dare dream about that anymore, its too good to be true.

Its all good thats why we have heavy metal. \m/

I guess I need to look up Tosin Abasi.

I guess we are just going to not talk about the cultural differences between a culture that produces the Beatles and a culture that produces Jack Harlow and music like it.

So Rick is actually a boomer I thought he was a gen Xer like me. :)
2
It reminds of what Marty McFly was trying to do in Back To The Future.
2
@MurkyDregs Because its not.

@MurkyDregs "When one opens their eyes, there's already an implicit observational bias." So we agree but you just wanted to argue. Talk about an "exercise in absurdism." Have a good one. ;)

@thecowgirlmermaid They are certainly playing mostly covers.

@jwh475ezc That sounds great and all but thats not what the crowds want to hear.

Which is a representation of music as a whole.
