  2. Big Mama's teacher never said "she wasnt going to amount to anything, period." I guarantee the teacher told her that with "unless you buckle down and do your work and apply yourself." Or something very similar. Modern women seem to love to modify advice to sound like an insult. I see it happening all the time.

  6. I love Jack hes a great guy but hes not rich so with all due respect hes wrong about debt. You need to use credit to increase your wealth, theres no way around that. I was the same as you when I was in my 20s and it took a good friend sitting me down and giving me the facts to being wealthy.

  9.  @ShizzleGizzleGizzenGar  The problem with saying stuff like "decent wages" is that no two people will agree on what that is. I find that when talking about money its important to use numbers whenever possible. That way neither of us is relying on the other's interpretation. Minimum wage jobs are meant to be entry level jobs and raising it only makes it more difficult to get started. I know SOME people work at them for years and years but that is the minority. You and I probably agree if you think it should be small b/c the market is what sets the real price. Min wage is $7.25 in La. where I live but I see jobs openings that offer $12 and they are always looking for employees, so effectively there is no minimum wage here. Therefore companies wont be able to low ball like people are scared of if the minimum wage was gone.

  10.  @ShizzleGizzleGizzenGar  This is the problem people have been convinced that economics is complicated, its not. Thats what the state wants you to think. It doesnt matter how many states or jobs there are. The markets for those jobs will dictate the going rate the same as it does at the high end. I get it, its counter intuitive. It rocked my world when I figured it out years ago. Everything about money is the opposite of what youve been told. The reason for that is that the establishment wants to eradicate the middle class, they are uncontrollable unlike poor people who can be controlled with govt handouts. Thats another topic though.

  13.  @motopolak  If a grown adult cant understand the concept of compound interest well then that says plenty about the education system in the US. Its extremely simple to understand and discipline is free so everyone should be striving for more of it.

  18.  @gwills9337  Are you for real? If companies start paying their employees 25% more they will just raise the prices on everything to make up for it, lie we are seeing in places with higher minimum wages. They have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders.
