  1. AirIndia was ruined by successive govts and the airline was ironically blamed by the govt and public for the mistakes and corruption committed by the politicians. In its present avatar it is ruled only nominally by the Tatas - there is no Tata at the helm actually watching the performance as Ratan T is more or less retired. The only reason the original Airindia reached such stratospheric heights was because of the presence of the legendary JRD Tata . Only time will tell whether the present firm can improve and become a world beater.
