An aircraft carrier is a huge floating platform packed with sophisticated arms, ammunition and other force multipliers like aircrafts which are not only capable of attacking the enemy but also more importantly capable of defending itself . The magnitude of the sanctions which resulted in the withdrawal of hundreds of firms is an indication of Russia's dependence on foreign technology . The fact that India has of late largely opted for western military equipment apart from a few Russian missiles , including aircrafts shows that Russia's technology is comparatively inferior . Russia by itself is incapable of matching and exceeding the technological prowess of the combined western powers . They are involved in a war with a much smaller country with limited military resources using their brutal superiority in numbers rather than sophisticated knowhow .
