Sotomayor is Catholic too, but she puts her religious views aside. She is right when she talked about :the STENCH of making the Supreme Court itself a political ploy. When Upton Sinclair wrote his novels, especially about how animals were treated and the meatpacking industry, there is no doubt in my mind the Republicans of the time railed against what Sinclair wrote. At the risk of sounding Marxist -- and I don't think I am -- the writers of that time wrote many novels and nonfictions exposing corruptions, etc., and today I am sure the Right classifies them as Marxist.
