Styx is having a very interesting series of talks lately that pertains to deep questions I grapple over for years now. It's good he can talk objectively.

As far as I'm concerned, indeed you can follow Buddhism and another religion at the same time. That's the beauty of Buddhism. If you notice, Jesus was pretty much a Buddhist himself. There are traditions in Buddhist countries (I forget which) about Jesus travelling to those countries before he began his ministry among the Jews. Of course, the Christian West has a stake in denying these traditions, so no surprise there.

Actually reality already is playful and free when you understand the idea of a Synchronistic Universe. I began to comprehend this when I read about Carl Jung and coincidences, more often than not, playful. But one time for me, a very somber and meaningful -- coincidence or vision. Lately, this Synchronistic Universe has gotten my attention and is teaching me patience by showing me things I didn't notice before, which would have spared me a world of aggravation if I had understood patience.

A very profound, yet simple, comment. So there really is merit in the Catholic confessional box. There was always this sense of grace after a good confession. The Protestants, otoh, say confess your sins one to another. I got teaching from Protestants also, but I was never that comfortable about telling my sins to another person in a congregation, for various reasons. Humans being the shytes they are. And just forgiving ourselves and moving on is pretty much a difficult thing to do. I have never forgiven myself and never will , for many of the things I have done in ignorance. So I pray the Cosmic Christ and the Synchrnistic Universe forgives.

The Jews believe the messiah will be a man. The Rebbe (what they call an affectionate term for rabbi), the Rebbe Sneerson from Brooklyn NY was believed by the Hasidics to be a literal messiah. I know because a kind of Orthodox professor explained it to me when I asked what was all this hoopla in the news over someone called Rebbe Sneerson. I was floored to understand a messiah, to the Jews, meant a literal man. I wanted to see the viewing of his body. The prof asked why. Well because here's a group who believed this rebbe was a messiah. I wanted to see what a messiah looked like. But, knowing how the Hasidics are, I doubted I would be welcomed to see the body. ALSO in the Old and New Testaments there are plenty of verses why the Jews did not accept Jesus. They were looking for a messiah (a man) who would liberate them from the Roman yoke. This doesn't really have to be explained, as it's in every movie about Jesus I've ever seen.

Yes, yes, I agree with the ending! It's all very simple. We have the Archtype of the Cosmic Christ in an Intelligent, Synchronistic Universe. It all keeps coming back to that. Jesus, a Buddha incarnation, lends himself well to this Archtype because of his message.

NOT TRUE In Israel there are Orthodox (or Hasidic) dedicated to rebuilding a third Temple. They even have ritual sacrifice of animals outside the wall in preparation. There was a Youtuber who showed the videos taken in Israel.

It's all humbuggery for the unthinking masses

@JoMomma -- It's odd though -- there are still those dark nights of the soul when, forgiveness notwithstanding, the consciousness of the enormity of one's guilt still comes back to haunt. A Buddhist guy I once knew long ago taught me a Buddhist phrase which I have never forgotten -- Nam-myoho-renge-kyo (Japanese) the core and essence of Buddhism, the crystallization of the wisdom and power of 3,000 years of Buddhist philosophy and practice. It is the name of the principle that underlies and animates all things in the universe, and the expression of that principle or Law. Glory to the Dharma of the Lotus Sutra

@PyrrhicPax - The Jews have plans of sitting at the right-hand at the table, while the gentiles are thrown the crumbs. After all, they are The Chosen and the Bible tells us so.
