  1. I think you misread it. The context of the time is key. I never considered it a “little” car. Cars at least eruocars were not tanks..cars were light, nimble. Super cars of time were pretty ouch as well

  2. Tedward I know..as I said- euro cars..driver cars were all much smaller..Porsche’s were what 120 ..bmw...in many ways the hot hatch was better driver car than many brands we now look to for super cars..american iron was rock bottom bad ...junk..

I admit to looking closely at the original GTI..but bit too cheap and tinny when first issued...while I like this one for sure, I can’t say I’d put money down for one..it’s a good representation of the period, but not a real classic that I’d want to have in my garage..and I had many VW..but beetles, window van..
