That's called probable cause.

Search houses with probable cause. You'll change your tune when someone nicks your phone.

@BowserLucaTheThird Telling the entire world you're "that guy" without actually saying you're "that guy".
2
Statistically, these false allegations happen just as often as the attacks do.

And that's what this bill will do. Allow the existing laws to be enforced.

@LesHearn-h2o Clearly they can't, or this wouldn't happen.
1
@bluefish-manWhen they leave, small business grows into big business, leading to greater wage competition between employers.
1
@bluefish-man And then what? Lose their business? I don't think so.
1
This tells me far more about Trump than it does the ICC.
1
Ah... the logical fallacy that is the slippery slope argument.

@lukasmadrid1945 What's the point of improving the courts if they can't catch people? And it's not everyone's rights, only those who have a someone else's phone. That won't affect me.
1
@ Ah yes, your jealous ex comment. Not sure that going through the courts would prevent that, so I don't see that as a show stopper. It's a bit like saying we shouldn't send anyone to prison, because someone might frame an innocent person.
1
@lukasmadrid1945 Perhaps in the fantasy would you live, but in reality, the courts would do the same as the police. I didn't say it was the same, I said it was "a bit like". Nice straw man.
1
@lukasmadrid1945 I know you've explained your opinion. I'm not buying it. You seem to think the police don't already have probably cause. They do. This change merely confirms it.
1
@ Ever heard of probably cause? The police already have that.
1
Yes, a strawman. When you paraphrased my "a bit like" as "the same as", that was a straw man. A ploy often relied upon by those without a point.
1
@lukasmadrid1945 More bureaucracy, you think that's the solution? That's what we have now, and it's not working. Hence this change.
1
@ Insisting the police go through the court - which is precisely what they do now - rather than handling it themselves, that is more bureaucracy. So no, not a strawman. Reform the courts? How? They already have this power, and it's not working. What specific changes do you suggest to resolve this issue?
1
@ I never said I knew what the specifics of your solution were, I said that if it involve police going to the courts in these cases, then it is more bureaucratic. I notice you can't answer the question. Too busy with your straw man tactics. Here, let me ask it again. What specific changes do you suggest to resolve this issue?
1
@lukasmadrid1945 None of the details you mentioned will give people any more chance of getting their phone beck than they have now. So no, you didn't answer the question.
1
They already do that. Do you think they shouldn't do anything else?
1
@simonlevett4776 Well that be before or after the sky falls down?
1
What was the body count?
1
@garyfryer5334 Why would they do that? They won't track anything to my house.
1
They'll just resort to nicking the bike as well.

@adenwellsmith6908 2 words. Scientific experiments.

@kida6460 watch it and find out.
