  2. I'm sure that if a supernova was headed towards earth, the corporations on earth would spend most of their time and energy on it trying to work out how to mine it for materials.

  3. Most of the start in out galaxy are nothing like our sun. It's position for one thing. It's in a very quiet part of the galaxy, between spiral arms. That means there aren't many other stars near us. It's also a singular star system, while most others are duo or trio system. So it's not quite correct to assume that all star have the same probability of having earth like planets.
