  4.  @AgonxOC  some brands are more reliable than others even with proper maintenance. See ‘iseecars’ for the longest lasting vehicles on the road or which vehicles folks keep the longest. Hint: sequoias, 4Runners Tacoma’s tundras as well as Toyota sedans take up a large percentage of the list

  5.  @AgonxOC  that website isn't an opinion piece. they analyzed over 260million vehicles sold between 2012 and 2022. out of the 23 spots, Toyota held 8 with the Land Cruiser (2), Tundra (3), Sequoia (4), Tacoma (7), 4Runner (10), Avalon (11), Sienna (20), and Camry (23) as you said anecdotes does not make reality so that'd apply to your while unfortunate rx350 story not sure what the bmw red herring has to do with this but ok that's good for them

  6.  @AgonxOC  if anecdotes don't represent reality for you AND you don't believe in data as you think they're being manipulated then there's nothing that will be able to prove it to you. Any data will be said to be 'manipulated' and any anecdote isn't 'reality' JD Power most reliable vehicles 2024 is lexus/toyota, consumer reports most reliable brand is also lexus/toyota, the vehicles most likely to go over 250k miles and is kept the longest is mostly toyota; not sure what to tell you
