First off when you see this question I'm sure it'll be a new year so happy New Year to you from the usa. By the way if you have a chance, you might want to visit USS Kidd when you have the chance there in Baton Rouge Louisiana. My question to you sir is if you had the chance to go back in time and ask any engineer what were you thinking? My example being is why the Japanese Engineers decided on the 25 mm for an AA gun.

@kemarisite yes, that is true but they had the opportunity to buy a license from Vickers for the beaufers which was 40 mm. You would think that they would have gotten the idea that that too would have made a better any tank gun which is what I know the 25 started out as. That's why I framed my question the way I did. Have a great New Year and thank you for the conversation.

@bkjeong4302 I see. Thank you for that information but I'm still curious as to why they couldn't get it into production when they got the 25 in protection so fast. I wonder if it had something to do with the design of the parts, or was it the material that they were made of? I think it'd be fascinating to find out.

On a side note if anybody wants to see a really awesome reality based World War II movie as far as graphics, ships, and airplanes go. There's a great movie on YouTube called The War of Archimedes. I highly recommend everybody check it out. Everyone have a great and wonderful New Year from America😁🎁
