  1. I do not think shooting the Sun with nuclear weapons would phase it much. Being as the Sun is an on going fusion reaction. It is basically an ever exploding hydrogen bomb. The Greeks also knew they were missing a big piece of the puzzle because of the Sun. They knew there was something going on there they did not quite understand. They knew if the Sun was just a big pile of wood it'd have burned out long ago. I think they calculated it would have lasted 4,333 years? And they knew it'd been shining for longer than that. So something else was clearly happening for the Sun to shine as long as it did. We know what that something is today but the Greeks did not.

  7.  @timofyraskolnikov7070  the ancients understanding of elementary particle physics was less than ours is. Our understanding is not perfect either though. It very well may never be perfect. There are things beyond our limited cognition to understand.
