Comments by "Paul Frederick" (@1pcfred) on "US vs German Pliers (WIRE CUTTERS)? Knipex vs Snap On, Irwin, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Craftsman, Wiha" video.
@BeingMe23 Snap-On does not need to sell a single tool to any of you plebes. They got the greatest customer in the world. Uncle Sam!

I do not think those brands are as available internationally as others are. They're a good choice in the US though.

America has to foot the bill to defend Germany. So our government cannot afford to subsidize manufacturers.

Definition of pliers small pincers for holding small objects or for bending and cutting wire
1
@jezza159 we did give the world a reason to use cutting pliers.
1
@jezza159 that's freedom.
1
@jezza159 American English is what's called a living language which means it changes. I would still assert that we use the word pliers right when calling side cutting pliers, pliers. They look like pliers to me. Work like pliers too. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck then it's a duck!
1
@jezza159 I grip things with cutting pliers all the time. The trick is don't squeeze so hard you cut through.

Information in this video is good to know if you're a trained ape without any training.

Milwaukee is owned by a Hong Kong company today. So they were literally bought by the Chinese.
1
I'm not big on giving my money to anyone. So the least I have to give the better.
1
Snap-On makes nice ratchets, sockets and wrenches. For other tools I'd look elsewhere.
1
Yes they are.
1
@Lewythefly they are cutting pliers. I often grip with cutters too. You can look at them like pliers with very thin jaws. My favorite diagonal cutting pliers have a cranked head made specifically for pulling staples out.
1
Klein was founded 25 years before Knipex was.
1
The USA does not make consumer products. We are the arsenal of democracy! So we focus on weapons manufacturing.
1
The geometry and material of the cutting jaws themselves will be a factor as well.
1
Nails are not heat treated. That's why they bend.
1
Germany always loses.
1
@jorgsplettstoer4743 hande hauten! Mitt aussen macht schnell!
1
The USA does not make consumer products. Our primary manufacturing focus is on aerospace. If you want a missile that flies 14 times the speed of sound then come talk to us. Because we got you covered then.
1
@jdv943 lay off the salt.
1
China offers the best value.

@johnharding6394 they didn't give me anything. US politicians were the gift givers. I'm not taking anything from anyone that I'm not paying for either and I'm not looking to sell anything myself. I've had two manufacturing jobs myself in the past. It was some boring and repetitive work. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
1
@johnharding6394 the present is just a point in time between the past and the future. The past is gone. It's never coming back either. The only thing I can tell you for sure about the future is it will be different. And you're probably not going to like it. My advise to you is adapt. Because if you don't then you perish. Them's the choices. The only constant in this world is change. Say what you will about Joe but he figured out how to profit in these changing times. He got his stacks. Everyone that sold the USA down the river did. So I salute all of them. It's the American Way.

Could have been a prep failure. Your best bet is likely contact cement. Barge cement is well known. It lists shoe repair as one task it is capable of doing.
1
@Skoll_Wolfrik you need something flexible.
1
Same in America.
1
Just remember Joe's been in politics for 50 years now.
1
@jean-pierredejon7458 the US military has the largest collection of Snap-On tools by far. There's a special portal for military contractors on Snap-On's website. When you have a customer as good as Uncle Sam is you have to provide them with concierge service.
1
@HSKFabrications King Dick? Alright!
1
Two US brands.
1
@bauerfischer3030 sounds about right. To be fair the Chinese do make up a quarter of the world's population. So they're bound to be heavily represented.
1
@bauerfischer3030 not how I'm reading it it isn't. The title is a list of the competitors.

We can get by without all of that crap. We still have 80% of the arable land on Earth. Can't get by without food.
