  1. I have cheap calipers and I have Mitutoyo Absolute Digimatics too. My Mitutoyo calipers are way better. But if I have to crawl under the house and measure something I use cheap ones for that. Somehow you get the shelf life of a battery in Mitutoyos. They last that long. The cheap ones I've seen them drain a battery in a couple of months. Mitutoyo also holds zero perfectly too. Cheap ones lose calibration a lot. If you're worried about price then just get some cheap ones. They can work. Some cheap calipers are better than others. I like my black ones better than my silver ones. A big problem with cheap stuff is it isn't very consistent.

  2. The torque test channel does some flashlight testing. They test light output and light over time and do durability testing. They also check out the color and light patterns too.

  3. You'd be severely disappointed with the solar charging feature of any of these. They take days to charge up in the best of circumstances. There's just not enough solar cells to get much charge. You need more area of cells. A lot more.
