  2.  @Ryndog  Not any particular brand. I do like having the right funnel for a job though. I have a few different shapes and sizes. I have a big galvanized funnel for filling up the lawn tractor. I have a long skinny trans funnel for filling up vehicles. Then an assortment of little plastic funnels for filling up small yard equipment and other funnel tasks. Like say filling up a spray bottle. Oh there's a hot tip. Get an empty spray bottle and put some gas in it. You can use it like starter fluid on hard to start small engines. Which is every engine that's sat. Then run them on the bottle with little squirts until they fill up their carb bowl and can feed themselves. Saves a lot of rope pulling if you do it right. Since I've been using gas in a spray bottle I haven't even bought any starter fluid. I don't know why I didn't think of that trick sooner. Try it you'll like it. I should add I don't usually leave gas in the spray bottle. I put some in the bottle, use it, then dump the rest back into the gas can when I'm done. It's a tool. Unless you're starting hard starters every day. Then leave it in the bottle.

  4. Some of those no spill spouts are from the Devil's own workshop. I just take the caps off and use a funnel.

  5. Original German jerry cans had no spout. The American knock off of the jerry can had the "donkey dick" attachment. The original German cap design is pretty ingenious.

  6. But water and gasoline have different viscosities so they flow differently. That means they'll leak different and pour different. Gas is thinner than water is.

  7.  @Teknopottu  two years ago it was a quarter of the price though. Why fuel costs what it does in the US is a sordid tale. But hey we did invent it. OK maybe we didn't invent it but we did commercialize it. You'd still be throwing the stuff into evaporating pools if it wasn't for us. So that has to be worth something.

  8. I never used a gas spout I liked. So I just take them off and use a funnel. Holding a full gas can up while it's slowly emptying fuel is not my idea of a good time. These cans all look like they work better than the stuff I have though.

  11. I just dump the gas right out of the can. I take the spout off. I use a funnel too. I have no patience for those funny filler spouts.

  14. Your problem may be the driver? When I have a gas can in a vehicle I drive like I have a gas can in the vehicle. I take corners on 4 wheels etc.

  20.  @lilmike2710  they didn't copy the Jerry can immediately. The Americans never copied it really. The basic shape but not the features. Blitzkrieg was more of a myth than a reality as far as German combat went. They never fielded that many mechanized units really. Maybe 10% of their armies were mechanized. Mostly they still marched or used horses. I don't think they had more than 4,000 armored vehicles in the whole war. We made 35,000 Sherman tanks alone. The Soviets made about the same number of T-34s At one point the commander of the 6th Panzer division joked it was called the 6th because that's how many panzers they had. And he wasn't really kidding when he said it either.
