I was expecting to see some toast come out to test that.

That Supertech grease was not claiming it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is a light duty product.

Why don't you use grease?

Probably not. Unless you don't actually use them. Then they'd be just as good.

Crisco is the best grease!

For wet sandpaper you can't beat 3M. I've used some crappy sandpaper and it seems obvious to me when it is not performing. Stuff dulls fast, wears out and just doesn't cut. I think the trick is just buy coarse sandpaper because it is going to be medium then fine eventually anyways.

I used to use white lithium myself. Always easy to tell when it was dirty.

DL Blue Label used to be the stuff when it said, "Contains a solvent" on the package. Now I don't know. Not sure if lanolin is really a replacement there.

Grease is the word.

Soap is soap. I like to use some borax with soap for the grit factor. Plus borax does something to enhance soap. If you're ever in a bind you can do the Comet and Palmolive trick. Donno what the chemistry is going on there but by the smell I'd say it is intense. May want to wash your hands with regular soap afterwards?

Any grease is better than no grease.
