As a sinister individual you need to adapt to a righteous world.

The steel matters but if the steel isn't heat treated properly or handled correctly during manufacturing you're not going to have the performance you should from the steel. That care and expertise does tend to cost to do too.

There are definitely some trash multitools. So I say let the shaming begin!

I keep my markers in a jar. That keeps them fresh. Makes sense. You keep food sealed up to keep it fresh.

I find uses for pocket knives sometimes. Like if I'm out doing yard work and I have to open bags of stuff up. I have retractable utility knives too but for me a pocket knife is just more appropriate a tool to use. If I had to I could get by with just utility knives. I have a whole drawer of different knives though.

I don't see how factory sharpness matters. A manufacturer does not have time to hone every knife they make. That's simple reality. They expect you to sharpen your knife. Or find someone that can sharpen it for you. Maximum sharpness, durability and ease of sharpening all do matter though. Although some of those attributes can work against others. Knives that can retain an edge are often more difficult to get sharp for instance. Hard steel is hard.

There is a wider picture to consider besides the creators as far as the platform goes. ScrewTube has definitely screwed me over many times too.
