The History Guy: History Deserves to Be Remembered

Comments by "Paul Frederick" (@1pcfred) on "The Forgotten 1202 earthquake" video.
I was only in a mild earthquake once. It was still a rather unsettling experience. Terra Firma wasn't quite so firm for a moment. The very idea did not sit well with me either. At first I thought I was having some kind of an episode. I was looking at the floor and the floor rose up towards me. I thought, well that's not normal.

Just get right with God and you're prepared for whatever may come. Or in other words there's nothing you can really do. What happens will happen. You could build the ultimate survival bunker and be away on a trip when the SHTF. Then perhaps meet your demise expending all of your effort to get back to what you've prepared.

Lessons learned from the past are of no practical value today. That is due to the changing nature of reality itself. We may be overdue for an earthquake in that region but then again it may never happen. Who's to say? Even if it did the impact would be far different today than it was then. If there is any meaning to life it is simply to see what tomorrow will bring, not dwell over what's already occurred.

@VanillaMacaron551 you don't see anything. You could not be more wrong. But you'll never realize that. We can agree to disagree.

@here_we_go_again2571 the only preparation you can count on is mental fortitude. I'm not going to argue any of this with you. You'll figure it out real fast for yourself when the moment comes. They died of shame.

@kellydalstok8900 the point is to have faith. Merry Christmas.

@JWRogersPS everything is caused by God. He put it all in motion long ago.

God is just how we explain that which we don't understand. There is no chance when all variables are known. As Einstein famously said, God does not throw dice. He's definitely doing things behind His back that we just can't see though.

@pnotuner1 when I want your opinion then I'll give it to you!
1
@pnotuner1 my favorite quote by Einstein is, if we knew what we were doing it wouldn't be called research.
1
@pnotuner1 are you sure?
1
Climate change caused us. We are fairly certain of that.

forgetaboutit. 🤣

@VideoDotGoogleDotCom I mean the person I was replying to was completely incorrect. They seem to have deleted their comment though. You can be assured that I know myself better than they know me.

@LadyAnuB I'm not one to put too much stock into, Signs from God but sometimes I have to admit the message is pretty clear. When the ground is shaking that clearly means, get out!

@JWRogersPS science has some theories. No one can explain where everything came from though.
1
@JWRogersPS OK where did matter come from? What's the theory on that? What is the origin of what Earth is made out of? Explain away. What evidence do we have outside the known Universe? Your science can't really explain anything.
1
@JWRogersPS OK so where did the energy come from? The rest of your theories seem unlikely too. Why was only hydrogen created out of the energy? Why wouldn't other elements have formed too? What stopped that from occurring? Why would energy coalesce into matter anyways? Is anything like that going on now? Where did the fabric of space time come from? That's not exactly an element you can find on the periodic table. As the universe expands there's more space being created all the time though. Where is this space coming from? It's free real estate! How could we have any evidence from beyond the known Universe indeed! The Universe is 14 billion years old and 93 billion light years across. How did the Universe expand faster than the speed of light? Apparently nothing can indeed go faster than the speed of light. Because we're seeing that much nothing do exactly that. As big as the Universe may be it is still too small to contain the answers to all of the questions it poses. It's a bit of a paradox. It's why your science will never have the answers.
1
@JWRogersPS so when energy turned into matter there wasn't tremendous energy and pressure in the Universe? I suppose that's one of those things that science can never know. If God didn't do it then what's the point? All of this for no good reason is a depressing thought.

@pakde8002 that sounds terrifying to me.

The more they take from you the less you have to lose.

An earthquake actually relieves stress. Well the earthquake is the side effect of that stress being relieved. The Earth is just stretching some then. We fleas living on the Earth's back feel the shaking too.
