  1. They're just trying to cover all bases marketing. Duck tape should never be used on air ducts. It doesn't work there for very long. There's a special tape for use on ducts that's actually metal foil and the adhesive is so sticky there's a backing you have to peel off the tape before you apply it. There's a good chance you've never seen duct tape unless you're a HVAC tech.

  2. There's cloth under the plastic of duck tape. Duct tape is actually metal.
