How does NATO threaten Russia? When has NATO ever invaded anyone?

@gabiiancu141 France and England both declared war immediately as soon as Germany invaded. You can't just magic your armies onto the battlefield. Not even today is that possible. It takes time to deploy troops. The real letdown was at the end of the war when the USSR occupied Poland. But Poland is why the USSR fell too. The Solidarity movement was one of the cracks that caused the collapse. So the moral of the story is things tend to take time. Eventually you get what's coming to you though.

@poeethics9331 yes the whole NATO argument makes no sense whatsoever. If anything Putin just strengthened NATO for the next 50 years. There had been a lot of talk lately about why NATO still exists. Well now we know why!

WMD confused the issue. The coalition had grounds to invade even without WMD. Because the Iraqis were firing on coalition patrol flights. That's what really set off round two. WMD were not really a factor. It was just something that dimwit Bush prattled on about at the time.
