  7. I think if the drones don't find the loose nuke in Jersey we're going to be down a lot of homes and homeowners pretty soon. But it couldn't have happened to a nicer place.

  8.  @KB-ie7jr  that's what it was in the 90s when I was in manufacturing. Now I'm not saying we can't do better. But that's about as good as we generally do today. There's a lot of reasons why the gap is as large as it is. It is not just because our wages are higher. But that is a part of it. It's just a lot harder to do business here. It takes a lot of capital to overcome those challenges too.

  10.  @KB-ie7jr  I made printed circuit boards and machine tools. I wan't making a mint at either of those places and what we made cost a lot more than imported products. We were doing the best we could but we didn't have the tooling to do any better. We had enough to do something. But not enough to really be competitive. Besides that we strove for excellence. What we did produce was very nice. We just couldn't make much of it. That level of quality control is costly. Being Americans we had no problems throwing things away. The amount we scrapped at the machine shop was shocking. What we made cost 10 times as much because we had to make 10 parts to get one out the door. But the one we shipped was perfect. That's a cultural issue.
