Snap-On sued Harbor Freight over their floor jacks. Because Harbor Freight was selling the same jack. Snap-On lost the case. The Harbor Freight jack was a lot less than Snap-On was charging. I don't trust any hydraulic jack. That's what jack stands are for.

The Harbor Freight one handed clamps are crap. But the way they fail is fairly easy to fix. There's these plastic pins inside that snap off. So I just drill them out where they were and put a metal screw in there.

@tomruth9487 every hydraulic jack the only thing holding it up is a little seal. So you're basically trusting something akin to a rubber band to keep that weight off you. Usually it does. But there's always the remote exception to watch out for. It only has to go wrong once really.

@tomruth9487 I've broke some myself. I have an older style than what Harbor Freight is selling now. So they are different. I just looked and I had to do the fix on 3 out of 8.
