The reality is alloy tool steel and drop forging are widely practiced techniques today. A lot are capable of doing it. Sure Snap-on is marginally better than anything else out there. But is another 10% worth 10 times the price? I can work within the 90% limits of what other brands offer. Anyone that needs that extra little bit I have to question their mechanical aptitude.

If you want a budget table saw find something used. But you'll probably have to clean and maybe fix up whatever you find. Still what you end up with will be a lot better. I found a nice used saw for cheap. I wasn't even looking for it. I just happened across it at a yard sale.

@christianzaccone4347 oh yeah just buy new batteries. That's if they even sell them. Then if they do battery packs cost if they're decent.

I wouldn't count on manufacturing coming back. The US doesn't have the infrastructure to support it anymore.

@peterfowler8044 Snap-on offers a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser. They never offered a warranty against abuse or wear and tear. But if someone is a good customer dealers will do them favors. That's beyond a warranty service.

@andrewnajarian5994 I'm not seeing a whole lot of radical innovation with tools. The only time a truck warranty is going to do you any good is when you're running a tab. I called Harbor Freight once and they mailed me out a new tool. Top that. When I asked if they wanted the broken one back they laughed. That tool breaking was 100% my fault too. User abuse. I fully expected it to break with what I was doing with it and it didn't let me down. I have a pretty nice impact gun. It tore that socket adapter up. But hey I tried.

@deensedudevonand4115 if you don't need it then why bother, right?
