I traveled about 600 miles to see the eclipse in 2017 so don't ask me. What sucked was I was stuck in traffic 3/4 of the way home from there too. I left at 3 PM and it really didn't let up until 2:30 in the morning. Because I was clearly not the only person that traveled to see it. But the drive down was easy.

I've never seen a comet. I was around in the 80s too. I remember Halley not being what was predicted then.

Eclipses are only really impressive in person. It is an in the moment kind of a thing. You've just got to be there.

Blue Moons are not blue at all. It is just an additional full Moon. They don't look any different from any other full Moon does though.

I live in Sussex county Delaware and I went to Columbia South Carolina to see the eclipse in 2017. I stayed overnight in Santee. I was going to watch it in Santee but it was cloudy there so I went north west up to Columbia where it was very sunny. I booked a room a few weeks in advance.

I saw the 2017 eclipse in Columbia South Carolina and was in traffic until Newport News Virginia. It was almost 12 hours. Which was a lot of traffic. I can't justify doing it again. Once was enough for me.

@alohafromthe3033 well good luck to you. Even though we know when these things are going to happen and where, we still don't know what the local conditions will be like. I know when I went I had to scramble to get somewhere with clear skies. But doing that also put me in with a lot of other people. Which is why I hit the traffic I did.

No. Everything is as it appears to be. The graphics here may be inaccurate though.

I don't remember seeing any comet. I got to see the green meteor that flew across the New York metro area though. Now that was wild. We were parked waiting for a buddy of mine to show up to go out and it burned right in front of us. I could see mountains on the thing. I don't know what would have happened if that rock had collided with the planet. Being in the air it was hard to tell just how big it really was. But just judging by the detail I could see I'd say it was large. Maybe hundreds of feet across? It was surreal.
