@billbradleymusic believe fairy tales? I can see how that is easier than facing reality head on. Life is not supposed to be easy though.

The few answers any of us may come up with in life all turn out to be wrong.

He's living the dream.

Not every riddle is meant to be solved.

@DutchDiederik you're only young once and it goes fast. One day you wake up in your mid thirties and think, I'm not a kid anymore. It isn't until your mid 50s before it really starts sinking in though.
3
Why what was so bad about it? The guy was living a dream. Absolutely no one was asking him for anything. All he had to do was be. That's primo gravy right there.
2
I'm telling ya. Life is too short to live it on someone else's terms.
2
@DutchDiederik that's pretty much how it hits folks. As the years go by they just go by faster. I think it has to do with the novelty of life wearing off. Our minds are wired to discount the familiar. It is a survival trait. As you determine each thing to not be a threat or a benefit you begin to discount it. The more you ignore the less you have to mark time with. As our minds blot everything out a piece at a time we just don't have detailed references like we used to. Spare scenes may be taken in at a glance and do not appear to represent very much to us either.
2
Stuff's going to happen. You're just not going to be there for it.
2
I got all of that now and it's not killing me.
2
@The Donald#1 I've dropped a lot of acid and taken some shrooms. Nothing beats mainlining Dilaudid when it comes to acceptance. Man rushing on the heavy D it is like every atom in the Universe is perfectly aligned. I can see how folks get addicted to the stuff. It don't put things into perspective it puts it in a gift box and puts a bow on it for you too!
2
@patrickhall7918 I don't think we're here to be happy.
2
At your age my advise to you is drink heavily. Be crazy. Because being young doesn't last long. If I was 24 again I'd be an absolute mad lad. Probably spend my golden years in jail. But by then who cares?
1
Ha ha ha ha hardly.
1
Yeah knowing those trees will be there after you're gone must be a humbling thought.
1
He was due.
1
Your Dad was 63 when he had you? Kind of a late starter wasn't he?
1
@martinwfarrell You know where they had order? The concentration camps. They all did what they were told to do there. So I guess you could say they all lived their best lives.
1
@martinwfarrell we should definitely all be able to drive whenever we want wherever we want. Life is an adventure. Or at least it is supposed to be. the greatest life lessons are learned during the misadventurous parts of it too. Now if you don't like how I drive then stay the hell off the sidewalk!
1
@MilwJay that's what you say today. Someday you may change your mind though. That may actually be the meaning of life too. I know I look at things much differently today than I had in the past.
1
@MilwJay I never had any issues driving drunk. That's why you got two hands. One to cover up one eye and another one for the steering wheel. Because driving between double vision is tedious. Trying to split the difference is when accidents happen.
1
If you live long enough you eventually outlive everything you've ever known.
1
Life sure is something.
1
@The Donald#1 I've done a lot of stuff. The only thing even remotely comparable in my experience is freebasing while peaking on acid. That's always fun. You do have to be careful doing that though. Can be a bit too much fun. Always best to do with a good friend. the look on faces is priceless. Plus you should keep each other from getting too carried away. Tickers can only take so much stress after all. So go slow and enjoy it.
1
@lupusdivinorum I know that because no one gets out alive. I can make a pretty good guess at the future too. Which is why I can make the previous statement with confidence.
1
@lupusdivinorum I don't need to die myself to know that no one gets out alive.
1
That turned out to be an unfounded fear.
1
Oh yeah I don't think he had a 98th birthday party.
1
@comicsarethebest8626 I know.
1
I probably won't get within 20 years of it. My family is not very long lived.
1
If life is a gift can I return it for a refund? I think mine is defective.
1
Seven V it'd be a long walk.
1
Why? It's not like you'll know.
1
Sure why not? Someday our Sun is going to expand and engulf this entire planet. Our atoms will be fused in an atomic furnace and shot out into space. It will be as if none of us ever existed at all. There's no reason for anything.
