  28.  O.P. Yates  want has little to do with how things simply are. There is no evidence to suggest anyone wanted the Universe yet here it is. Much in nature is a process where chaos evolves into order.

The life of the Universe so far is an insignificant fraction of the span of time there. So that kind of long. Barely an academic talking point from our perspective.

  30.  O.P. Yates  Clarke wrote 2001 as a consultant for Kubrick. But the story is Kubrick's. So in this case the book is loosely based on the concept of the movie. So don't take anything in the book as the gospel. Because Clarke only knew about as much about things as anyone else did.
