A little bit of time? Maintaining an init is not my idea of a little bit of time. I can configure the Linux kernel to exclude all of the parts I don't need. So there's that argument countered. What I want to know is how come my system uses 10 times the RAM at idle running SystemD as it did under sysVinit? That's nothing philosophical. That's system resources. I ran Devuan and if they had a gcc that I could use I'd have kept with it. But instead I am stuck with SystemD. Because every major distribution uses it. Sucks! Eat shit; 50 billion flies can't be wrong. With that logic we should all just run Windows. Grow some hair cue ball.

@Alex RAM is just one resource value. Don't think consuming RAM is all an application does. But it is the easiest quantity that I can measure. I have given Windows 10 some serious thought too. There's certainly software I can get for Windows that I'd like to use which has no equivalent in Linux. I'm never going to see an application like Solidworks in Linux.

@infinitelink before Linus got cucked he used to have choice things to say about the SystemD team. I got a bad feeling about Linux's future. We're getting metooed.

matt M when Debian switched I tried several non-SystemD distributions and none were practical for me. There's plenty of ways of saying fuck you. I prefer to spell it out myself. But you said it to me first. You were just too thick to realize it. That's why I said fuck you too. And don't say, "No I didn't." Because I know when I'm getting fucked. Now piss off. You're useless.
