Comments by "Paul Frederick" (@1pcfred) on "How Do You Stop a Bad Guy With a Gun? | Man on the Street" video.
In this world we're expected to be that good guy with a gun. Carolyn Warren did not know that but the District of Columbia courts informed her when she tried to sue the city after being raped. Specifically, no special relationship existed between the police and appellants, and therefore no specific legal duty existed between the police and the appellants. When it is your ass getting hammered for 14 hours that's your problem!

I never saw a moment when they applied any logic.

When seconds count the police are only minutes away. I'd carry a cop but I can't get one to fit in my pocket.

@mikeheckman4995 our society is predicated on the threat of violence, just like every human society always has been. You break the rules and you pay the price. In the beginning a member only needed to be exiled from the tribe in order to be dealt a fate worse than death. Today with civilization spanning the globe we lock people up. Same difference though really. Ostracization is an effective method of dealing with the individual.

The leftist.exe app has never worked. It is based on a completely flawed algorithm.
2
When it comes time to shoot someone it ain't like carving a turkey up on the Thanksgiving table where you get to decide if you want a leg or a wing. Cuz the folks you're shooting usually aren't cooperating.
2
When it gets to the point where someone needs to be shot then there's no such thing as a sensitive caring way to go about it. Just more and less effective hits.
1
Folks saying, just call for help are not familiar with Warren v. District of Columbia. In this world we're each responsible for our own safety.

All Americans are designated gun persons! The police are just errand boys. Their job is to make sure the accused stand trial. That's it. They're not there to stop crime in any way, shape or form. Only to make sure perpetrators face justice. By the time cops get involved crimes have already happened. Time travel ain't real either.
1
Actually the Supreme court ruled that the 2nd only limits what Congress can do. Any authority the federal government does not have states have. So state gun laws are not unconstitutional. Quite legal actually. Which is why so many state gun laws exist. The National Firearms Act on the other hand may be infringement? I'd say it in fact is.

@thepope2412 you don't understand how it'd have to work. The way you want it would be too hard and expensive to do. All or nothing means all or nothing. Which is a big flaw in the plan. Surprise, we don't live in a perfect world.
1
@thepope2412 you obviously want a dual system with government supplied healthcare along with private plans. Two costs more than one does. When we're going to have a hard time paying for one two is straight out.
1
@thepope2412 yeah well we're back to the whole the world isn't perfect thing, now aren't we? Not sure what we can do about that either. Beyond accepting things as they are.
1
@thepope2412 the solution you envision just doesn't happen to be more perfect. We simply can't afford it. We can't afford the crappier solution. So we sure as hell can't afford the deluxe plan. That's what you're failing to accept. Even the nutsacks foisting their lousy plan on us understand that. They further realize that with total control they'll have no competing system to be judged against. So as bad as whatever they manage is it'll still be the best. The only is by default always the best too.
1
Sure she is. Thank God I live in a constitutional carry state too. That makes us all, "gun persons". Ain't no such thing as a license or registration here. In fact we've outlawed it. A god damned registry of firearms ownership is just the first step to confiscation. If you're going out to get stuff nothing is handier than knowing where it is and what it is.

I wanted to shoot him in the leg but my sense got the better of me so I just shot him in the chest.

About 10 centuries ago the Chinese invented the technology. The rest is as they say, history. Your question is moot. It does not matter how they got it. All that matters is that they have it, and what you're going to do about it. Good and bad are subjective matters of opinion. Robin Hood was an armed robber but he's a hero in mythology.
1
Yeah to North Korea. Your line of reasoning works well there.
1
@gregb6469 perhaps. We can't shoot every criminal though. The ones we don't we need to do something with. So I am not seeing what you're driving at.
1
@gregb6469 what concerns you is impossible. There's always going to be crime. Locks keep honest people honest. There's always going to be dishonest people who are not deterred. Now perhaps if everyone was armed to the teeth it'd cut crime down. But you'll never completely eliminate it. For every foolproof plan the Universe is prepared to make a bigger fool.
1
@CtrlAltRetreat what you describe is what we're doing now. A state that I am familiar with.
1
@Chad Mower someone needs to take her to the gun show to see is he's her, "designated weapons person”.
1
I think these are actually zoomers. A zoomer is up to 22 years old now.
1
@OneWhoDreamsAwake Zoomers! Living proof that social media is infinitely more toxic than TV ever was. My theory is that it is due to the closed negative feedback loop. They're rewarded for thinking wrong. We've discovered that stupidity has an even greater affinity for company than misery does.
1
Yeah someone with a gun.
1
Bad things happen to good people too.
1
Sure with your parents you can have a long gun at 14 in a lot of places.
1
Nothing better than nice people with lots of nice things. With more nice things we could all afford to be nicer.
1
@nelsonvitorino596 it doesn't matter. Hitting someone in the leg is no guarantee that you've completely neutralized them. They're going to be hurting for sure. But that's not the immediate object. Which is to completely end the threat that they pose. If I could just snap my fingers and make them disappear I'd opt for doing that. But that isn't realistic. Putting some slugs into their chest is.
1
No one forces me to obey laws. You can go to hell with that noise. I ignore any law I want to. And no one can stop me.
1
@nunya9763 they ain't taking me alive!
1
@jirky015 yeah you have to wonder where anti-gunners think the good guys with guns come from. Are they interdimensional beings? The reality is they're just normal people, with guns. Fun fact: most people are not homicidal maniacs. That's regardless if they're armed, or not. They're simply not predisposed to killing everyone in sight.
1
She should just put up a sign in front of her house stating that she's 1. nice and 2. unarmed. See how that works out for her.
1
You can empty a firearm magazine faster than you're going to bleed out.
1
@TheVexCortex it is hard to say. People have been shot in the head twice and lived. Thanks for ruining two in the head and they're dead Gabbie Giffords!
1
@TheVexCortex statistics still do not rule out possible outcomes though. Most people do not hit the lottery jackpot. That does not stop someone from hitting it.
1
What is an "illegal gun"? You cannot print a functional firearm either. Defense Distributed was just a publicity stunt!
