@19nick57 Americans are kind of wayward British. We just had a bit of a falling out with the Empire.

No. WW1 ended 105 years ago. Some vets made it past 100 but they still had to be old enough to participate. If the oldest person that ever lived had fought in the war they might still be alive today. But they didn't.
2
They shouldn't be that tired of the war. They'd only been fighting a couple of months. The entire US combat involvement was less than a year.
2
We'd all be driving Mercedes today! Least all of us blond hair blue eyed folks at any rate. I don't know about the rest of ya.

Someone has to depose that CIA installed crook.
1
US combat losses were fairly light. More died of the Spanish Flu. A lot more.
1
@nielspabst helicopters were used in WW2. But they were pretty rare. A helicopter was used April 25th, 1944.

Distinguished Service Cross. It's the second highest medal awarded behind the Congressional Medal of Honor.

@19nick57 I'd say that objectively the USA is the greatest nation there ever was just based on our accomplishments. We put men on the Moon simply to display our omnipotence to the world.
1
@19nick57 were you under the impression that we did Apollo for any other reason? Because if that is the case then you're mistaken. US dominance was called into question after the USSR launched Sputnik so Apollo was our response to that. We wanted to make it crystal clear who was the best. Liquid rocket propulsion is a yankee invention.

Hitler was from Austria. He just became the German Chancellor. Ain't democracy great? You can vote for anything. Germany and Japan weren't bad. America and Great Britain were bad. But we won so we painted ourselves as the good guys. As soon as we defeated the Axis we immediately took up the banner and became hostile to Germany's former enemy the Soviet Union. So it was bad for Germany to fight the USSR but it was OK for us? Figure that out. We're still fighting Russia today. But when Germany did it that was bad. We're hypocrites.

@Redwhiteblue-gr5em you have to dig the potatoes somehow.
1
@N_metab They're Americans as per the description of the video.
1
The US military did not allow non-whites combat duty until after the end of WW2. The military was completely segregated. Any non-whites that served did so in non-combat roles. Racism was alive and well back then. Whites were not OK with armed minorities. An interesting exception to this was the 442nd regiment which was comprised of Japanese Americans. Their story is one for the ages. They were still totally racially segregated though. They were commanded by white officers, of course. But we let them carry weapons and fight. And fight they did.
1
Find out who was at Versailles for the treaty. They're the ones still causing problems in the world today. A minority that is over represented. The tribe.
1
Even the walking barrage wasn't enough to break the stalemate.
1
He's dead by the time this was filmed. He died in April and this was filmed in September.
1
The last US soldier died in 2011. So it wasn't that long ago really.
1
Nuclear weapons have stopped wars between nuclear armed nations. The stakes of waging war are simply too high there.
1
They had portable radios in WW1? They barely had those in WW2. The ones they had didn't work too good. A handy talkie had a mile and a half range in the best of conditions. That's line of sight. You could wave to each other.
1
@bleikrsound6127 yeah I've heard bad things about the range and reliability of the portable radio gear back then. I guess it was the best they could do though.
1
That's because Americans broke out and drove the enemy back. Something the French and British couldn't manage to do. Heck Americans were still attacking even after the cease fire.
1
@pompeytid1970 I believe it because it is true. Americans are aggressive combatants.
1
@pompeytid1970 why was America in a European war at all? It's not our fight. Both world wars were fought because stingy European empires didn't want anyone else joining their club. But we collapsed the French and British empires so I guess there is some justice in this world after all.
1
@anticommyalwaysbarker82 technology advanced due to the conflict anyways. WW2 could have been avoided if the victors were more magnanimous. They were instead vindictive. At the end of WW2 we learned our lesson.
1
It wasn't for Americans. US forces launched attacks even after the armistice. It was kind of controversial.
1
@ozzyfan7299 the color is completely made up too.
1
The troops in these films are Americans.
1
The US military was segregated until after the end of WW2. We didn't let blacks carry weapons. For what at the time seemed like very good reasons. Quite frankly considering statistics they may not have been wrong. It just isn't politically correct to tell the truth these days.
1
@SunofYork exceptions do not negate rules. The US 8th Air Force lost 80% of it's men. None of them were black.
1
@SunofYork Vietnam in case you are unaware happened after WW2 and the integration of the armed services. Stating historical record is not denigrating anyone. What happened happened. Saying nonsense today doesn't change the past either. I do not need to cherry pick statistics when they clearly show that 16% of the population commits 52% of all violent crime. That's simply reality. Why that's the case is another matter entirely. Obviously there's something going on there. I will not debate now what that is. I still reserve the right to point it out though. Ignoring things does not always make them go away. But hey stay woke. Keep plugging for McNamara's Morons too!
1
@SunofYork exceptions do not invalidate rules. I am aware that whites are not perfect. Statistically blacks are still far more likely to commit violent crimes than whites are. I refuse to speculate as to why that is the case. I will categorically state that it is not a simple economic issue though. It certainly doesn't explain what we all know OJ did.
1
@SunofYork males do have a higher rate of criminality. If you want to narrow the stats to young black males a solid case can be made to just lock all of them up. Over half of them are going to be guilty of something. Recently females have been trying hard to gain equality though. There was that callous case of the girls and the Queens cabbie that was widely reported on this year. BTW I am not prejudiced. I'm no fan of humanity in general. You're all disappointing as far as I'm concerned.
1
That's because they are.
1
No chirpie no nookie. 4 years is a long time to go without too.
