  2. When I was a little child the geeks from up at the Labs gave us a presentation at my school about lasers. This was in the mid 70s. It was a rather memorable and entertaining stage show. I think they may have been using us as a test audience. Because they had a novel public persona. I grew up a town away from the Labs. So we were pretty connected with the place. I'm sure a lot of my classmates parents worked there. Heck even I ended up working on the campus when I was in construction. Today that place is defunct as I understand it. Or near to it. That laser show was hilarious though. They even admitted at the time they had no idea what lasers were good for. But they were certain they would be good for something someday. It was pretty funny. In one demo they "popped" a balloon with a hand held laser. Then they admitted they faked it. Well, one of them came clean and there was a bit of a back and forth on stage. It really was amateur hour up there.

  4. I think human space exploration is a complete waste. My government shouldn't be wasting a dime on it either. Let alone 3.5 billion dollars for space suits alone. We have unmanned probes now. They do the real science.
