It's definitely a crap shoot. Where I watched came very close to being clouded out. But we got lucky. I think where I planned on watching did get clouded out? But based on the weather forecast I saw I didn't stick around there to find out. I left there in the morning and went someplace better to watch.

High five fellow viewer. I caught totality in Columbia, SC. I think we had 2.34 minutes? Clear skies over us too! It was nothing short of awesome. All the naysayers were just chumps that didn't get to see it.

We don't get too many total solar eclipse events here. The last coast to coast total solar eclipse event was 99 years ago. The next one is 7 years from now.

The Aztecs were some of the best ancient astronomers on the planet. So I'm sure they had their sacrifices well planned out in advance.

It sucks to be you if you cannot understand the significance of an experience. Because it is events that define us as individuals.

Buckets and eclipses. It is no comparison really. Where I went to watch the eclipse they were just giving away commemorative merchandise by the handfuls. The eclipse isn't going to happen again either. It is not an ongoing event. Well, there's another one in 7 years here. But that's a long time to keep hype going.

I saw totality in Columbia, SC and my word for it is, "otherworldly". I felt as if I was on an alien world, not Earth. Which is certainly a surreal experience.

I saw some folks watching this one that I'd say are not going to make it to the next one. A couple didn't look like they were going to make it to next week. But none of us ever know the hour of our death.

Where I watched there were people from all over the world. Including people from the far side of the planet. So what I'm saying is it is worth the trip. Because ah, it is. I drove 545 miles myself to be in the path of totality. So it's not like I just tipped out the back door to see it either.

I caught the eclipse in Columbia, SC. Viewing was perfect there. But to the east I think they did get clouded out?

Others have had this debate before and you're wrong. The only country with the word America in it is the United States of America. So the US is often referred to simply as, America.

Great job! Never settle in life. Always insist on the full Monty.

Even people that traveled to the path to see it were lucky if they did. Because you can't control the weather. I went 545 miles to see the eclipse in the path of totality. But I knew all along that there was no guarantee I'd actually get to see it. Early on weather conditions didn't look promising where I was either. But I lucked out, and the clouds dissipated enough beforehand that I got a great view.

I saw Canadians where I watched. Now come up with a better excuse. Heck I saw Japanese people there. Now they made a trip.

That sucks. Where I was in Columbia, SC they had enough glasses that they could hand people stacks of the things if they asked for them. I got two pair just as souvenirs. Because they had the place, and date printed on them. I already had my own plastic framed eclipse glasses that I went with. So I didn't even use the cardboard ones. But I had them.

Mix your exit music level right you idiots. Jeez I had to turn my volume down over here. Fire the sound engineer. She deserves it. Anyhow I witnessed totality in Riverfront Park Columbia, SC and it was otherworldly.
