@Fmono • 38 years ago • Updated you just think our units are Imperial. They're not and they never were. Though the British did adopt our inch standard after they lost theirs in a fire. So Imperial length measurements are the same today as US Customary. Imperial volume measurements remain vastly different than what the USA uses.

@Theduckwebcomics the USA won the war of Independence. So we threw off the yoke of Imperialism. Then the crafter of the Declaration of Independence polymath Thomas Jefferson devised the system of US Customary Units. Which is based on the duodecimal system. Far superior to simple decimal. You do have to have a modicum of intelligence to be able to grasp it though. So I guess that leaves you out.

@Fmono • 38 years ago • Updated the USA does not use Imperial measurements. We beat the Crown in the Revolution. Then Thomas Jefferson, the framer of the Declaration of Independence, came up with US Customary Units. After he attended the metric symposium in Paris. Then the Europeans turned around and screwed us. They're good for that.
