Just what do you think computers are? They are complex clockworks! That's why they have clock timing signals. Well, we used timed gated logic because it works. Other things work too, just not nearly as good. So the common digital computer is very much a time based device.

@markp44288 I don't know what a bolide is but I saw a rock burn across the sky once. It left a smoke trail in the atmosphere and I could see the flames coming off of it. The event made the news too so it wasn't like I was just seeing things. Millions of people also saw it. There was even some video of it. Which for when it happened was absolutely incredible. It happened before smartphones. Was the early 80s as I can recall. And it burned green!

@markp44288 ah ha. I did not know that. I don't know how far away the one I saw was. I saw flames and smoke coming off of it though. I could make out the rock too. Although it was glowing hot. So close enough to see it in detail. It was bright but not super bright. Kind of a mellow burn really. Just your typical burning rock flying through the air. But it was green. It was the biggest thing in the sky. I'll give it that. Looked about fist sized. I could see the smoke billowing off of it. The smoke left a trail in the sky too. Because of course it would.

@markp44288 yeah what I saw was pretty nuts. Not something that happens every day. And when it does there's less chance of seeing it. But my friend and I both happened to be parked in a car waiting for another friend of ours to show up so we could go out for the evening. And that rock flew right in front of us. So we were looking out the window looking for someone when that rock flew by. That gave us a good view of it. Then when he didn't show up we looked around for him and found him standing in a field staring up at the sky waiting for another rock to fly by. He was all like, Did you see that? We said, Yeah we saw it now let's go. Show's over.

@markp44288 yeah it's not something that happens every day. I've never seen anything else even remotely like it.

It is a sign from the heavens that even the greatest mortal is just a bug in the grand scheme of things.

Where they found the Antikythera mechanism doesn't mean that's where it was from. That's only where it was lost.
