  1. Same problem on long island. The rent for the commercial property is soo high because the owners of these properties can get big tax write offs on them. So the rent is always higher than the tax write off . New York needs to lower the tax write off on vacant commercial property so the rent can come down to reasonable prices. Without doing this these properties will remain vacant at the taxpayers expense.. stop corporate welfare!
