Yellow vests prove violence and destruction work. History shows few successful bloodless revolutions.

Dieter Bletten Yes my friend, but a lot of blood was spilled getting to 1989.

@JoaoSoares-rs6ec I posted history shows few successful bloodless revolutions. Maybe you could cite a SUCCESSFUL bloodless revolution? Even Gandhi's salt march to the sea was violent, at least on the part of the British.

@JoaoSoares-rs6ec That's a military coup at gunpoint and shots were fired. Yes, no deaths but Revolution at gunpoint is not a peaceful revolution. Right? Is robbery at gunpoint peaceful?

@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Yes I'm aware of the flower connection in the name. I suppose I'm using the term, " bloodless" as a euphemism for unarmed and nonviolent with no implied violence or potential violence associated with it. Though I'm sure someone blead a little, maybe a punch in the nose ? By one of the military to someone who resisted. You understand my point. Hundreds of revolutions and very few successful without blood or force being asserted.

@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Thank you for sharing that. I've been a transnational militant since age 17 supporting IRA PFLP AIM Mujahideen fighting Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980's. Was in Ireland 🇮🇪in late August 1979 ( Wikipedia Lord Mountbatten Monday, 27 August) I wasn't personally there but did do serious terminal work for the Provo's elsewhere. Supplied 💲🔫to IRA and AIM and 💲to PFLP and Mujahideen ( before the US jumped in with massive arms and funding). So I too have been around more violence than one should be. It's left me with a weltanshauung that's pretty cynical I guess.

@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Understand. I spent the last 20 years in Federal prison surrounding the activities. My life is part of government files so I'm a lot more open than I used to be when Operational Security was key. Have a good rest of your day.

@Peter-pg8qn Your pithy quote, I'm assuming based on Goya's painting and associated writings about the same shows you to be an armchair philosopher of sorts. I've been working with separatists, national liberation groups, revolutionaries since age 17. I've lived in worked in or traveled to 40 US States and 9 foreign countries and met people from about 120 countries. And having an IQ in the top 3 percentile of the population I'm sure I have a far better grasp of realpolitik machpolitik geostrategic politicostrategic religiostrategic perspectives on international diplomacy than you. Do more, read more, write less.
