He's hoping, in a quid pro quo, that troublesome Kurds are removed and that the Turkish Military troops confront the americans as well. Killing two birds with one operation while keeping his own hands relatively clean ( as far as confrontation with the US). If the Turks in the north east and the SAA Russia Hizbullah IRGC Chinese Tigers etc elsewhere, keep pushing they might have a defacto peace by late summer. Let's hope!
