  1. Interesting the freeze-dried camp food. I know fresh is best, but for backpackers humping fresh food is outta the question because of the weight of WATER. Other camper's foods, high in calories, tasty, inexpensive, easily packed and very low in water weight, are peanut butter and jelly, and dried sausages/salami.
