I would have been tempted to leave the bees alone because they do such good things in nature believe it or not, but eventually that nest, at the end of the summer, might get huge -- the size of a football or more and that would be dangerous. The best time to take out a nest like that is in the dark of night when the insects are inactive, particularly if the air temperature is below 50 degrees.
