  2. Yeah that chicken shizz is ideal to add to a compost pile, the hay may take a while to break down tho, unless the pile is turned over frequently. Work. But since it's Fall, to save work the fresh chicken doo can be worked right into your garden plot, giving it time to decompose. Never add fresh manure to a garden. Sorry to say it, but (chicken) "blood meal" is excellent organic nitrogen amendment to garden soil. Buy at box store.
