But viewers, know that a good solid undergraduate and especially graduate and/or professional school education, in STEM, logic, philosophy, natural history, psychology, critical thinking, analytical reading, etc., will arm you with the tools to determine reality. Such an education gives you the understanding to realize that whatever time spent examining such religions or religious artifacts, whether it be from deep hunter-gatherer times 50,000 years ago, or the Axial Age (the Jewish Bible, the New Testament, the Quran), or the wild West of the USA (Book of Mormon), is just that -- a mental exercise. There is no evidence of God, Satan, demons, devils, spirits, ghosts, spectres, saints, souls or afterlife. Still, such man-made religious practices, creeds, items, relics, ancient tomes, etc., are nothing but comic bookery and tomfoolery but may yet have some application to the understanding of what many millions and billions(!) of "the faithful" believe today. Faith is believing on no evidence.

  7. It's absolutely ridiculous. Chaotic confusion. In the first century A.D. there were many branches of Christianity, hundreds by the 4th century, and today over 40,000 denominations. All certain that their religion, denomination, sect or cult alone is the one true religion and many are ready to die for it. Logically speaking, with so many discordant conflicting groups one must conclude that they are all wrong.

  17. Syncretism! This is a most important term. It means morphing or changing one religion into another, common to most religions. Abrahamic religion: one great comic book story. It is very sad about the concept of "scapegoating!" That one's evil behavior can be shifted off to and blamed on some supernatural being (Satan, demons!) rather than take responsibility for your own shitful acts. Likewise, the reprehensible concept of Abrahamic religious forgiveness ... that animal and/or human sacrifice can expiate sin, i.e. Jesus as scapegoat. The most egregious strike against earthly justice is the concept of "Christian forgiveness." The idea is that a little man in costume behind a curtain can grant forgiveness of serious transgressions and even crime without reporting to law enforcement or authorities nor ensuring restitution to the aggrieved. Grow up. Cast off the comic book kiddie characters. Stop blaming others. Trash the "cult of victimhood" as we see prominent in liberal-progressive theology. Take responsibility for your own damn nasty behavior!

The Vatican offices of today continue this hype. Today, neurocognitive scientists and critical care physicians know that dead is dead. There is life before death, not after death. Death, a part of life, is final. There is no evidence of resurrection, souls, afterlife, God, Allah, the God of Mormon, heaven, Hell, Satan, saints, angels, demons, devils, ghosts, spectres or spirits.
