Paul was dismayed by the horrifically violent and/or ignoble deaths of Jesus' original apostles and deaths of believers at his churches.
No resurrection, no God's Kingdom come AS WAS PROMISED.
So Paul warmed up his quill and stack of papyrus and changed up his writing from a spiritual revival of Jesus, which wasn't cutting it.
He came up with a whopper! That there was a PHYSICAL resurrection of Jesus. That, yes. there will be no God's kingdom in Earth. Now it's “celestial(!)”.
And, uh ... well... "it's gonna happen any day now! Just you wait and see."
Post-failed apocalypticism apocalypticism.
Paul was one of history's greatest confidence men, an expert at written flimflammery. Words are powerful. Sadly.
This was the first instance of "shtick" the manufacture of miracles, apparitions, visions, exorcisms, prayers answered, etc, to convince people there existed a benevolent interactive communicative Being with supernatural powers.
The Vatican offices of today continue this hype.
Today, neurocognitive scientists and critical care physicians know that dead is dead. There is life before death, not after death. Death, a part of life, is final.
There is no evidence of resurrection, souls, afterlife, God, Allah, the God of Mormon, heaven, Hell, Satan, saints, angels, demons, devils, ghosts, spectres or spirits.
Now go sleep peacefully tonight.
