jackstands are interesting when they use them for extra house footers imo but i'd add real footers myself

i bet if that red metal one breaks it'd be on a weld (s) ...lol one mechanic said he finally learned welding after years and hated it because always the weld breaks...

yep, i was looking at my rhino ramps daydreaming maybe the front for a small homemade boat or something else from them but they're heavy for their size , the hdpe i think they are , the geometry is strong , they're still heavy for the size compared to maybe aluminum or ...

i'm debating between the gel motorcycle battery order online for cost , or the maintainable big box ones where you add the acid mix , because the non gel one seems more serviceable maybe anyway and i didn't know the gel battery is supposed to only use trickle charge or something ? i probably killed a few with the conventional charger , shortened their lifespan and i wish i'd brought it inside in winter , ... the ramps from w*lmart reminded me, [ the cost is same between the two the cheaper acid battery in store or if i order gelmat online]

if i don't use them i have to jack one car up in the middle to change the oil filter so i had to buy them or take it to shops or use a few jacks is why i bought mine at w8lmart for $50 or so back then , their oil and headlights are good price if you can stand the place

stuff rusts fast the metal ones ....

now i'm daydreaming on a cinderblock two row base filled with concrete and dig the middle out under it , hydraulic jack(s) on top , permanent spot .Cinder blocks are cheap , standard concrete/rebar in one hole of each block ....not too much cost...i use the rhino ramps from wally world mart for price and they had them i think a van is maybe too heavy the version i got , i'd get the larger one ,,,it's one of those i could make one but it was about $50 ready

i always put the truck spare under the car frame when it's on the plastic rhino ramp so it can't fall on me that far but when that type weight goes it's fast like BINK! , that fast be safe , i should have jackstands but the rim is steel big tire , i need those for one car oil filter even , put wheel chocks too, too many good people get hurt

looks like a cool ford ranger but i can't see it, i miss mine but everything dies...edit: i got a bigger ford it can pull a car but the ranger was handy like a tractor ,,, i used to scrap metal alot i think i had 2000lb in it before lol

one of the saddest stories i heard , this guy's brother was 17 and was working in the driveway on their parents car and it rolled out the driveway , he was crushed trying to stop it , between a neighbors car across the street ...i hear about jacks falling [and someone dies under it] and my truck rim under the frame and some chocks prevent it but it's an "accident" because we never expected it ...

when they're not lined up right they start to buckle (my plastic ramps) , it's important to get it perfect and i started to try a truck too heavy it was obvious too heavy so i stopped there but they're good within specs imo with safety precautions and careful ....

i'll probably get some railroad ties from big box hardware sometime and then dig the middle part under them and add jacks on top of those. so i can go under it and jack it up but it's on the permanent base sort of, the ground is soft where i live, if i use my rhino ramp to drive up onto it i can jack the car/truck higher there and have a few feet under it ....almost a lift or like the drive up lift with a few feet under it ...

i had a sill plate busted on a footer in one place so i used a scissor jack and a hydraulic car jack to boost it up and add some stuff, new boards , the scissor jack bent but i used it on houses to boost up a beam sometimes , you have to be careful doing that but i copied a guy who charged like $7000 fixing settlement issues once and i saw him do that way and for a deck beam btw.../side tip

my old , old lady landlord had a place empty and a stranger drove his truck up the porch steps , took it apart there , instead the ramps ...she flipped , imagine concrete porch steps lol..
