  3. Sure, the cyclist is wrong, but everyone makes mistakes on the roads, and that includes you and me. The aim is to make mistakes survivable, and preferably without injury, so the bigger picture is infrastructure and presumed liability. The road here is terribly designed - in the Netherlands this would almost certainly be segregated, keeping vulnerable road users away from lorries so that their mistakes (by any party) wouldn't matter at all. Secondly, presumed liability means that the driver's insurance would pay out in the event of a collision. Because he brings the danger to this situation, he must take far more care.

  4. The unclear and unfair signage that seems to exist around car parking is pretty bad. I wish it were better. I would like to see 3rd party parking enforcement like we have with driving offences. I think that would improve bad parking, and also improve these unfair signs.

  5. I think it's all motorcyclist's fault, with minor contribution of fault by the pedestrian. 20mph is far too fast to filter there, IMO. I seem to remember reading case law to the effect that filtering is a hazardous undertaking and thus you should take considerable care when filtering.
