After merging with Renault, their quality and reliability fell. Their CVT is trash whereas Toyota's is much more reliable. In 2019, they had some outdated models in bad need of a redesign.

It's still missing Android Auto which I want. Most every other compact car - Chevy, Ford, Honda, Mazda and Nissan has Android Auto, even the cheap Th Mistubishi Mirage has it. Toyota says they are working on it for seamless integration whatever that means. I don't know why it is more difficult to integrate than Apple CarPlay. I wish Toyota offer an upgrade on the previous Corolla like Mazda is doing for 2014-2018 model cars. The 2017-2019 Corolla is stuck with Entunes 2.0, while the 2020 gets Entunes 3.0, so for those of us who own the previous model Corolla, we are stuck with the old technology.

There are many generations of Corollas parked on my street and a few Camrys. I see more Toyota's then Honda's. The Corolla may not be as sporty as the Civic sport but Corolla has more safey features standard and is more reliable. The only negative thing in a review of the Corolla is slow acceleration
5
I don't like that Toyota/Lexus likes to use these ridiculously huge grills. They serve no purpose
4
Since Renault merged with Nissan, Nissan's quality has fallen, so Toyota is much more reliable. Toyota is focused on quality and safety
4
I like the new digital instrument panel/guages. The current 2018 Corolla is one of the few compact cars that still uses analog guages
3
It's also the only Toyota that has Android Auto as Toyota still has put it in the Corolla or Camry (added for the 2020 model). I hate that Toyota has refused to support Android Auto until 2019 and unlike Mazda is not offering an update to 2014-2018 models
3
Unfortunately the Corolla Hybrid is only available on the LE platform, so no sporty Hybrid (SE). It replaces the LE Eco
3
It's simply a Mazda with a Toyota badge
3
As you pointed, out Toyota is missing features that and is competitors offer and I don't know why Toyota won't offer those features. Of course, they are slow to adapt to new technology
3
Toyota has always had boring designs. But the Corolla is safer and more reliable then the Civic as some those safety features are optional on Civic.
2
I find it interesting that Push to Start is standard on the Yaris iA, because it is not standard on the Toyota Corolla. It only comes with the optional package on the lower trim levels
2
Toyota didn't have Android Auto and Apple Car Play until 2019 either. Toyota had refused to support Android Auto until 2019 and won't offer an upgrade for those of us who have older model Toyota's. The Corolla doesn't have Android Auto and I want in the 2018 Corolla which Toyota won't provide
2
Toyota has the most reliable CVT
2
@brodiwheeler7583 I don't know why allot of people don't like CVT. It's a new technology as it has been around a few years
2
I don't like that Toyota likes to use big grills on their cars. To keep it cheaper, LED headlights were not standard
2
Toyota has always had boring designs.
1
Yes, the newly redesigned Toyota's are more aggressive
1
Several of Nissan's models are old and in need of a redesign. Quality/Reliability has fallen since Renault merged with Nissan
1
The Corolla doesn't have Dual Zone Climate Control
1
Only 121 hp, that's slow. The other 1.8 liter is 138 hp, previously 132 hp. Notice no plastics covering the engine and no cover under the hood
1
A Motroweek/Cars test of Family Sedans put the Toyota Camry in 4th Place and the winner as the 2013 Honda Accord. The Toyota Camry is not quite as boring as it used to be; they’ve made it a bit more entertaining to drive and the interior is refreshingly simple, but it’s not quite as comfortable as it used to be. Also, the 2013 Honda Accord did better IIHS's crash test than the 2012 Toyota Camry.
1
I think C stands for compact. You mention Apple, but what Android? Toyota still doesn't support Android Auto, which is frustrating. This has the older Entunes 2.0, not the new 3.0
1
Now, Toyota's are no longer boring
1
Some safety features that are standard on Corolla, are optional on Civic which makes Corolla the safer car and cost less
1
Only 2 trims? The current sedan has 5 trims. Toyota must be trying simplify
1
yes, small car sales have slowed even for Toyota and Honda. But unlike GM, Chrysler and Ford, the Japanese are not discontinuing small cars.
1
Notice they went with cheaper plastic door handles. The previous model had metal door handles
1
The Civic has more room in the back then the Corolla and a bigger trunk
1
It's frustrating Toyota still doesn't include Android auto. Why won't they support Google? Privacy? Google Assistant is better than Apple Siri. I would rathe ruse Ok Google than Siri. Toyota is the only auto manufacturer that doesn't have it
1
I prefer the bigger Corolla which also has more horsepower
1
Hyundia/Kia is Korean and their quality as not as good as the Japanese, so they don't last as long as a Corolla/Civic.
1
Toyota gave up on 2/3 doors a long time ago. Even Honda no longer makes a 2/3 door Civic
1
A Toyota salesman compared the new 2020 Toyota Corolla to the Nissan Sentra and found that the interior of the Nissan Sentra is dated. But it has Android Auto something that the Corolla is still missing as Toyota is so slow to roll out and they won't update the system in older models that the outdated Entunes 2.0.
1
This new version is a more cleaner style the old model and looks more like an Accord
1
Other competitors offer heated seats with cloth and heated steering wheel that Toyota doesn't offer. Heated steering wheel was only available in Canada
1
Ford offered a heating package, something Toyota doesn't offer on the Corolla. Toyota only offered the heated steering wheel in Canada and you can only get heated front seats in the US on the XSE/XLE trims. Also, the Corolla doesn't have Dual Zone controls that is available on the Focus
1
Since Renault merged with Nissan, Nissan's quality has fallen, so Toyota is much more reliable. Toyota is focused on quality and safety
1
A previous generation Nissan Sentra looked identical to the Nissan Altima, only it's smaller
1
@kevs2good133 yes, Toyota had to recall the new 2019 Corolla Hatch
1
What about Android Auto? I want that not Apple. I hate that Toyota won't support Android
1
I think the way it works, it needs to detect the smart key for you to open the trunk, in other words you have to have it on your person
1
Toyota treats the Corolla as entry-level car, so somethings are cheap. The leather wrap steering wheel only upper level - SE, XSE, XLE
1
speaking of dated tech, auto manufactures won't update the infotainment system in their older model cars, leaving you with outdated system. We shouldn't have to buy the model just to the new tech, when it can upgrade it in the older model.
1
He has always critize Corolla for it's old slow engine.
1
The style makes it look a tad bigger than the previous model. But it appears the rear seat is more cramped then the previous generation
1
It looks a little bit bigger then the current model
1
I don't know that Toyota's infotainment is any better then Honda's. These Japanese auto manufactures aren't good at making infotainment systems
1
Still no Android Auto and I don't like Entune very much. Toyota offers Scout GPS which is only turn by turn directions
1
Because this is a cheap car, it has a cheaper feel and look then on the Corolla. I like that they put the entertainment screen up high, it's too low on the Corolla. Because it is a Mazda, it doesn't have Toyota Safety Sense package.
